In DCE MRI, a low-molecular-weight contrast agent is used to detect the leakage and accumulation of contrast agents in the extracellular extravascular space. The quantitative analysis of DCE MRI data allows quantifying perfusion and permeability parameters such as volume transfer constant between blood plasma and EES and vice versa, EES and plasma space volumes, and blood flow.
